The PBAMD2 study is a phase 1/2 study designed to further explore the safety and efficacy of low-dose proton beam irradiation combined with intravitreal anti-VEGF therapy — Lucentis (ranibizumab, Genentech) or Avastin (bevacizumab, Genentech) in treating eyes with newly diagnosed exudative age-related macular degeneration.

New Jungerman Hall honors Crocker Nuclear Laboratory's first director
One of the older buildings on central campus finally got an official name June 1 with the dedication of the building housing the Crocker Nuclear Laboratory as John A. Jungerman Hall.
Jungerman Hall was built to house the laboratory’s cyclotron—a type of particle accelerator—and opened in 1966. Jungerman, now professor emeritus of physics, was the laboratory’s founding director.
